Dr. Elyssa Schlossberg

Dr. Elyssa Schlossberg, DDS is an Angeleno through and through. Born and raised in West Los Angeles, she received her bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology with college honors at UCLA before completing her dental training across town at the prestigious Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC.
“Dr. Elyssa” is dedicated to clinical excellence and a calm, comfortable experience for her patients. Her friendly and gentle nature puts her patients at ease as she provides her high quality of care to her patients. She believes in the importance of providing the best oral health care– which starts with prevention– and in building meaningful patient relationships.
With a passion for education, Dr. Elyssa regularly seeks out continuing education opportunities that keep her vast knowledge of dentistry ever expanding, has taught as a part-time faculty member at USC’s dental school, and is on track to become a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry– a prestigious distinction earned by only 6% of dentists nationwide.
Dr. Schlossberg is the Continuing Education Program Coordinator for the West Los Angeles chapter of the Alpha Omega Dental Society, and is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, West Los Angeles Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentists. She is also a member of Sinai Temple.
In her free time, Dr. Elyssa enjoys spending time with friends and family, getting out in the sunshine on hikes or at the beach, taking salsa dance lessons, and playing strategy board games at home.
Dr. Virginia Van Osdel
TMJ Specialist
Dr. Virginia Van Osdel, D.D.S. is a 1974 graduate of the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. She is a native Californian, was born in Los Angeles and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. She did her undergraduate work at UCLA before moving across town to USC for dental school.
After graduation, "Dr. Virginia" started working for her father, Dr. Robert L. Van Osdel in his Beverly Hills office. This was a fruitful collaboration as "Dr. Robert" had created a very high level restorative and reconstructive practice. After his retirement, Dr. Virginia moved the practice to its current location at 9201 Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.
Dr. Virginia taught at USC part time for about 10 years after her graduation, enjoying the academic atmosphere. She was the first clinical instructor to be certified in both the Operative Department and the Crown and Bridge Department. She is a member of the American Association of Women Dentists and Past President of the prestigious Beverly Hills Academy of Dentistry.
Dr Virginia has taken many hours of continuing education over the years, including a 2 year part time Graduate Program from The Foundation for Advanced Continuing Education in Gnathology.
Dr. Virginia is a member of Angie's List, and was the first advertiser in their new Health Magazine.
She is the former President of the BNI-Business Advantage Chapter that is located in Beverly Hills, California and a member of BNI Business Network International.

Diagnosis
In order to do a complete diagnosis we do the following:
- A thorough examination of your soft tissue, an Oral Cancer Exam, a
functional exam of your TMJ and bite, and a periodontal exam. - An exam of your teeth, charting all existing conditions, restorations (old
fillings) and decay. - Intraoral pictures of all conditions and restorations.
- Diagnostic radiographs (x-rays) to check the condition of your teeth and
restorations. - Study models of your teeth to help diagnose bite issues.
Dealing with Fear and Anxiety
- Previous traumatic experiences will be discussed.
- All treatment modalities will be considered.
- Self-hypnosis, relaxation therapy, medications are all available for the fearful
patient. - If you would like to be sedated, we work with several dental anesthiologists who can make your dental
experience easy and comfortable.
